How long have you been in business?

Our financial planning practice began in 1990; the registered investment advisory firm, Paragon Advisors, LLC, was established in 1995.

What are your areas of specialization and expertise?

Although we use a holistic approach to financial planning, our specialty is investment management and retirement planning for those who are presently retired or are nearing retirement. We also work with individuals and families in other areas of financial planning, investing and insurance.

What is required to take advantage of Paragon's investment management services?

Typically, our investment management services are best suited for those who either want to work collaboratively with an advisor or would like to turn primary responsibility for their investments over to an advisor. We do not take on clients who are looking for a typical "stock broker" relationship. Our minimum account size is generally $200,000.

What will it cost me to use Paragon Advisors?

Because each client's situation is unique, it is challenging to address this question. However, generally the company is paid through some combination of ongoing fees (a percentage of investment assets being managed), hourly charges (for financial planning work), and occasionally commissions paid by product sponsors. A more definitive answer can be given once more information is obtained from a prospective client, and the scope of the engagement is determined. All fees are described in detail in the Paragon Advisors Form ADV, Part II, which new clients receive prior to, or at, the time an account is opened. Prospective clients may request a copy of this document.

What is the connection between Securities Service Network, Inc., and Paragon Advisors, LLC?

SSN and Paragon are separate, unrelated entities. Paragon Advisors, LLC, is a Registered Investment Advisory firm (regulated by the Securities Exchange Commission) through which financial planning and asset management services are offered. Securities Service Network, Inc. (regulated by FINRA) is a securities broker/dealer through which we have access to a wide array of investments. Our financial planners are both "advisory representatives" of Paragon and "registered representatives" of SSN. For more information, request our Form ADV, Part II.

Does Paragon Advisors offer tax or legal advice?

Although our staff includes several CPAs and attorneys, Paragon Advisors is not in the business of offering tax or legal advice. We frequently work with our clients' CPAs and attorneys to ensure that the client's financial plan is properly coordinated with these professionals.

What is involved if I wish to take advantage of Paragon- Advisors services?

We feel it is important to gain a detailed understanding of a potential client's needs and expectations before formalizing a client relationship. As such, we will generally ask to meet with you at least once and perhaps several times to determine your needs, explain our services, collect pertinent information from you, spell out our compensation and answer any questions. These fact-finding meetings are generally at no cost or obligation.

Will Paragon Advisors have discretionary authority to trade in my account?

We do not take discretion with clients' assets. Although we do make detailed recommendations, the final decision is always yours.

May I withdraw from my account?

You may withdraw all, or any part of your account at any time. If you need regular monthly income or anticipate other planned withdrawals, we will structure your portfolio to best satisfy those needs. Large, unplanned withdrawals can sometimes trigger taxes or penalties. Clients are encouraged to maintain adequate liquid assests in addition to their long-term investment portfolio to minimize the likelihood of forced liquidations.

Is Paragon's investment management fee tax deductible?

We are advised that the management fee paid to Paragon Advisors may be an itemized deduction for tax purposes. However, please consult with your tax advisor.

Is my money pooled with that of other clients?

No. Each client has a separate account, held by an independant custodial firm, that is tailored to their individual needs.

Who actually holds my investments?

Your investments will always be held by a large, nationally recognized independent custodian or investment sponsor which is unaffiliated with Paragon Advisors. You will receive statements for your account directly from this entity. If you wish, you can always contact this custodian or sponsor directly to confirm any details regarding your account. This arrangement provides important protection from fraud for our clients.

What security/privacy measures are provided to safeguard my information?

All client information is held in the strictest confidence by our advisors and our administrative staff. We have taken careful steps to ensure the security of all client records, whether physical or electronic. Client information will only be used as explained in the Paragon Advisors Form ADV and Privacy Policy.
