Paragon Advisors Video

In March, Greg De Jong made his way to the studios of Naperville Community Television (Channel 17) to record a video for the Naperville Area Chamber of Commerce’s “Chamber Connection” program. “Chamber Connection” spotlights new Premier and Executive Premier members of the Chamber via a brief interview with Chamber President John Schmitt. Financial Planning Association Conference

Greg De Jong recently attended the annual conference of the 24,000 member Financial Planning Association (FPA) in Denver, CO. Greg reports:

“This conference always offers a great menu of educational sessions which benefit me professionally and ultimately our clients as well. This year featured several excellent keynote addresses on “big picture” topics such as investing globally and understanding risk in the current economic environment. Equally valuable though were smaller workshops where peers addressed practical topics like how to make client review meetings more effective. Once again, I came back to the office recharged and eager to continue refining Paragon’s capabilities to best serve our clients.”

Congratulations to Beth Voss!

Beth recently passed both the Series 7 (General Securities Representative) examination and the Series 63 (Uniform Securities Agent State Law) examination. That means that she is now a licensed securities representative in the State of Illinois, which greatly expands her ability to assist our clients with their investment needs.

The Series 7 license is the most comprehensive of several different securities licenses governing the scope of a representative’s interaction with retail investors. The exam, which is administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA), lasts a full six hours and covers a broad range of topics, to include the various investment types (stocks, bonds, options, mutual funds, limited partnerships), as well as portfolio analysis, processing client transactions, and evaluation of client objectives and suitability for a particular investment.

If you have an opportunity to speak with Beth on the phone, please join with us in congratulating her on a job well done.
